I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. We were able to take long vacations up at my Grandmother's place in the farm country of Northern California. I always felt more like a 'country girl' at heart. I remember (and still have) the very first drawings I ever did. I was three years old and Mom labeled them 'cow' and 'bird'. I was hooked from then on. I took every art class I could get my hands on in Junior High and High School. I later majored briefly in commercial art followed by visual merchandising. Doing store windows and interiors in L.A. was fun. The stores I worked for granted their 'display' people a lot of freedom to be creative. When Dad retired, he decided to move to an area right close to where we had spent our summer vacations. I was torn at first, but two weeks before they moved I decided to pull up stakes and join them. Finding steady work in the art field of Northern Calif. wasn't easy, but I eventually landed a full time job with a company that designed, built and installed plexiglass and neon signs. I worked with the sales staff to design and produce scale drawings to present to the customer. My favorites were ones where I was able to add some of my own art work & logos to go with the lettering. When the signs sold, I also drew up the full sized patterns. This company is where I was introduced to working with Prismacolor pencils, and I've enjoyed using them ever since. After getting married, I moved to the Sacramento area where I remain. My husband and I have two grown sons, and a new daughter-in-law. I love the Lord, my family, and my friends. I like art, reading, and coffee (It's a Scandinavian thing ~ grin).
